Our Story

From Kalwan village to a 40-year-old mandi institution.

Three generations. One unbroken promise to the farmer.

The Jagan Nath Tek Chand Story Through the Years

  1. The founding

In 1986, a young man from Kalwan village walked into the newly opened New Anaj Mandi in Tohana with a single ambition: to be the most honest arhtiya a farmer could find. His name was Sh. Tek Chand Bansal Ji, and he would spend the next three-and-a-half decades building a reputation that outlived him.

He opened Shop No. 113 — the same address the firm occupies today — with nothing but a weighing scale, a ledger, and a promise that the farmer would always come first.

  2. Community leadership

Sh. Tek Chand served two terms as President of the Anaj Mandi, two terms as Vice Chairman of MC Tohana, and as President of the Loha Association, Tohana — public roles he took because he believed that a man who prospers from his community owes it his service.

He is remembered today not just for what he built — but for the standard he set. Every transaction at Jagan Nath Tek Chand Arhtiya is still measured against it.

  3. Sh. Naresh Kumar joins

The second generation stepped in. Sh. Naresh Kumar Bansal grew up in the grain market — weighing crop, building buyer relationships, learning every nuance of the trade from his father. Under his leadership, the firm expanded its buyer network into Punjab and deepened its farmer relationships across 100+ villages in Fatehabad district.

  4. Next generation — Deepak Bansal

B.Tech graduate Deepak Bansal returned to Tohana in 2010 — not because he had to, but because he chose to. He introduced computerized weighing records, digital moisture meter documentation, and structured buyer communication — practices that made every transaction faster, fairer, and fully verifiable.

Today, Deepak Ji is the primary contact for every farmer and buyer who walks through the door of Shop No. 113. He carries three generations of trust into every conversation.

  5. In Memoriam

The founder passes — the legacy continues

Late Sh. Tek Chand Bansal Ji rests. The mandi shop, the farmers, and the community he built around trust carry forward in the hands of those he raised.

  6. Sh. Naresh Kumar — Chairman, Nagar Parishad Tohana

In 2022, the citizens of Tohana elected Sh. Naresh Kumar Bansal Chairman of Nagar Parishad (2022–ongoing) — recognizing that the values that made him a trusted arhtiya were the same values a town deserves in its civic leader.
